About Monique Montessori Day Nursery

Monique's is a family run nursery and has been operating for 30 years. We cater for children from 0-5 years of age using the Montessori approach throughout the whole setting. We are situated within a large house, making this nursery a home-from-home for your children. Everything about our nursery is adapted to suit each child's individual needs, whilst creating a real sense of belonging for every family.
Our Approach to Learning and Development
The knowledge that we are an accredited Montessori nursery school that fulfills the criteria of high quality Montessori provision helps parents to feel assured that we are a nursery with a quality benchmark.
Our nursery encourages children to learn from first hand real life experiences, and support them as they develop into self-sufficient learners. The children are free to choose from a wide range of activities and receive individual and/or group attention in order to achieve their learning goals. The Montessori approach is central to Monique day nursery. It places value on staff and children treating each other with respect, and accepting their social responsibilities. This enhances the child's appreciation of life in a world where tolerance and acceptance is the norm. As a result, we are proud of the way the children become self-assured and confident.
The Montessori method is a child-centered developmental educational method, based on theories and observations of child development originated by Italian educator Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Montessori education allows children to make creative choices in discovering themselves and the world they live in.
